RouteSmart for ArcGIS version 9.2.3 Available January 2008Scheduled for a January 31, 2008 release, RouteSmart for ArcGIS 9.2.3 delivers several new features and enhancements that will help our clients in every industry we serve, in addition to providing support for ArcGIS 9.2 service pack 3.Our new Street Service Routing tools allow you to create a service location layer directly from your street layer, specifically for routing each side of the street itself rather than the individual addresses along those streets. The data in your street layer will determine the way the routes are created. The enhancements to Street Service Routing provide additional Network Attribute editing tools that allow you to make changes to settings like number of passes, whether a blockface is serviced, and the route that services each blockface. What don't you have to do? Geocode. We'll be holding two "What's New in RouteSmart for ArcGIS" webinars, on February 6 and March 5, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (ET), to show you the latest features and functionality. These "What's New" webinars are available to our active clients at no cost for the first two months after a new release. To sign up, email us at Routing University. Clients who wish to receive this new release should contact RouteSmart Technologies technical support (send us an email or call us at 800-977-7284, option 2) to arrange for an update. We will send the update as soon as the update is officially released. Registration for INTERSECT ’08 Opens January 2008!Mark your calendars and make your plans! Did you know you can: Calculate the geometry (area, length, x/y coordinates) of features using a simple menu command? In ArcGIS 9.2, the new Calculate Geometry tool allows you to easily calculate the geometry of a feature or set of features. The type of feature (polygon, line, or point) will determine how many calculation choices you have. Click here to read the complete tip, courtesy of ESRI. Have a SmartTip you'd like to share?
